About DuPage County Criminal History

DuPage County records are divided among the Circuit Clerk, Sheriff, municipal police departments, Illinois State Police, corrections agencies, and the Illinois Sex Offender Registry. We organize the official routes so readers can identify the actual custodian before searching, calling, or filing a request. This privately operated reference site explains those boundaries and points to the public office that can supply or certify each record.

Why We Built This Site

Illinois access rules do not place every record in one database. The DuPage County Sheriff keeps its incident, booking, and custody material. The Circuit Clerk records filed charges, docket events, dispositions, and sentences in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit. Illinois State Police maintains the central criminal-history repository, while the Illinois Department of Corrections and Illinois Sex Offender Registry serve different public purposes. We bring the verified portals, request routes, fees, and office contacts into a clear local path.

What You Will Find Here

  • Official routes: where the Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, municipal police, and state agencies publish or release records
  • Record guides: how DuPage County court, arrest, booking, and registry systems differ
  • Self-review guidance: how ISP Access and Review uses fingerprints to return and challenge your own Illinois transcript
  • Record relief: where Illinois expungement and sealing forms are found and how DuPage filings reach the Circuit Clerk

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of an Illinois court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. That means several tasks remain outside its role:

  • We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
  • We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
  • We cannot promise that a changing fee, address, hour, or portal procedure is still current

Only the Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Illinois State Police, or other originating agency can issue or certify the record it maintains.

Search Partners

Independent providers power search boxes on some pages and control their own results, prices, and data practices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports free access to this reference material. We do not control the provider's matches or charges, and its output is not an official DuPage County or Illinois record.
