Terms of Use

These terms set the rules for using this website. By visiting any page, running a search, or reading content here, you agree to everything listed below. If you do not accept these conditions, leave the site and do not use it further.

NO FCRA USE. DuPage County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, Illinois, or federal agency. Neither this resource nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) decisions. Its purpose is to identify public criminal-record resources in DuPage County, Illinois. It is neither a private investigator nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or submits documents for a visitor.

The site points toward the DuPage County Sheriff, Circuit Court of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, and Illinois Sex Offender Registry. It also connects visitors with independent research tools. It does not hold or issue the government records described.

Government access remains controlled by the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, court rules and orders, and the Uniform Conviction Information Act, 20 ILCS 2635. These terms do not expand access to sealed, juvenile, impounded, or otherwise restricted material.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Violate a federal, Illinois, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Use the content for a hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into a system or account
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated traffic against the pages
  • Disrupt access, performance, or another visitor's use

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information found here or through a linked tool to threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Illinois Sex Offender Registry data is provided for public safety under Illinois law, not for confrontation, vigilantism, blacklisting, or discrimination. Misuse against a listed person can lead to civil or criminal consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners likewise do not provide a site feature intended to evaluate job applicants, rental applicants, insurance eligibility, or credit. Information here or in a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come through an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider. Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification procedures govern official Illinois criminal-history products, but not every ISP product is designed or authorized for every use.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a DuPage County charge, conviction, warrant, or Illinois expungement and sealing rule applies to an individual matter. Consult an Illinois-licensed attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All content is supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dismissals, expungement and sealing orders, and agency updates can change a record. Delays and gaps are unavoidable. Nothing published here is an official statement from the DuPage Circuit Clerk, Sheriff, ISP, or another government office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government portals, legal-aid resources, and commercial search providers that we do not control. Their operators determine availability, content, fees, and data handling. Review the destination's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

DuPage County Criminal History or its content partners own the text, graphics, logos, and code presented here. Copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the site, its content, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and actions caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.

11. Governing Law

Illinois law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Illinois.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A revision becomes effective when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. The affected provision will be modified only as far as needed to make it enforceable.
